NBSC presents Peace Research Initiative at 4th OPAPRU Peace Research Conference
The Northern Bukidnon State College (NBSC) proudly announces the successful presentation of five faculty on the Peace Research Initiative at the 4th OPAPRU Peace Research Conference held on October 9-10, 2024, at Chardonnay by Astoria, Pasig City.
Five esteemed NBSC researchers composed of Alven L. Gomez,the Director of the NBSC Extension Office and the International Networking Office, and Project Leader, Ma. Cassandra Ragandang-Tubongbanua, BSBA Department Head, Julius S. Gabinete, Faculty President, Adonis J. Onahon, Prefect of Discipline- Designate, and Cristine Joy G. Sagaosao, BSIT Instructor presented their peace research initiative entitled, “Assessing Public Satisfaction with the Services of the 52nd Engineer Brigade of the Philippine Army in Eastern Mindanao for Shared Solutions and Citizen Engagement,”. The said study was a collaborative effort between NBSC and the 52nd Engineer Brigade—the project aimed to contribute to a broader understanding of peacebuilding and conflict resolution in the region.
Mr. Gomez presented the findings to a distinguished audience of researchers and government officials. The presentation highlighted the significance of community-based peacebuilding initiatives and the military’s role in fostering peaceful coexistence.
During the presentation, Mr. Gomez expressed profound gratitude for the unwavering support and encouragement of the college administration, Dr. Christie Jean Villanueva-Ganiera,EdD, CESE, Helen E. Maasin, PhD, Vice-President for Administration and Finance, Jovelyn G. Delosa, PhD,Vice-President for Academic Affairs respectively, as well as the offices concerned and research project members throughout the endeavor, including the study participants, local government units involved in the project, and the entire 52nd Engineer Brigade. Moreover, he shared his hopes for this collaboration, “Thank you very much, and I hope this will be a seed of peace to us. This research would be sustainable because we conduct the client satisfaction survey of the 52nd Engineering Brigade services every year… Hopefully, this would be our mission together with the other stakeholders.”
The 4th OPAPRU Peace Research Conference provided a valuable platform for knowledge sharing and networking among participants. The conference’s theme, “Seeds of Peace: Cultivating Peace Research towards Shared Solutions,” resonated with NBSC’s commitment to promoting peace and understanding.
